69-Year-Old Woman's House Gets Sold Behind

Elderly woman scammed, crooks grab her bungalow while she's in the US; cops step in

So, this 69-year-old lady goes to the USA to see her daughter, and what happens? Some shady folks sell her bungalow and land right from under her nose in Ambegaon Khurd. She had a caretaker looking after the place and even rented out the bottom part to a family buddy.

On July 9, she files a complaint with the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station, and they whip up a FIR (that's a First Information Report for you non-crime show fans). They pin five guys named Daulat Gaikwad, Amar Pawar, Ramesh Pawar, Rakesh Bhan, and Manoj Kamble, along with nine mystery guests, for playing fast and loose with the law.

The lady in question had lived with her hubby in Dubai, but he passed away in 2005. They had built this bungalow on a patch of land she bought back in '91 and '93. She's got two daughters living the high life overseas. She'd leave the bungalow in the care of a friend and stay there on and off.

Then she gets a call from her caretaker, saying some women crashed the place, broke the lock, and claimed it as theirs. She books a flight to Pune and heads to the bungalow on June 26, but they're like, "Move along, you don't live here anymore." They've got a fake piece of paper saying they own the place, with her name all over it.

Turns out, these sneaky characters used a phony power of attorney from 2001, saying she sold the place. But here's the kicker: she was in Dubai that day. And when the shady deal went down on April 12, 2024? She was in Chennai. She swears she's never met these people or signed anything.

The cops are looking into it, and she's relieved she's got her bungalow back, but the problem is, their names are still on the deed. So now she's got to sort that out. And she's pretty sure there's a whole scam operation going on in the city, with people eyeing her property from some random online ads.

It's a wild story, right? Imagine getting back from a trip and finding someone's moved into your house and says it's theirs. Crazy!
